Luckett's Spring Market

A very dear friend of mine and I made a trip to Lucketts Spring Market this past weekend.....

We had a blast!

It is about a 3 hour drive for us but the trip was nice and the weather was sunny.

It had rained the day before so much of the field parking that is normally available for Saturday was not due to the muddy conditions.

In spite of this, it was a truly fun day.

So much to see....

Love this truck bed....

There is an old truck I have been wanting forever...

I wonder if my husband would let me haul it to our house to do this with....

I was drawn to this booth:

Her things were just lovely.

You can go right to her website here:

Through the Garden Gate Antiques

I loved her booth and the things in it...

To see more of her booth, check out her blog here:

She has more and better photos than I do.

I must admit, I was having such a great time drinking it all in, I did not get a chance to take as many photos as I would have liked.

Or someone would walk through the shot, just as I went to take it....

This is true in BMore Nestled.

I took a couple nice photos ...with someone walking right into them...

Sigh!

I am learning.

Anyway, you can find more of BMore Nestled here:

All in all, it was a fabulous day.

My good friend pointed out this cross stitch to me.

It is my new mantra...

Thanks for stopping by...

Workbench Wednesday: Warning! Some images may be disturbing...

If you are an organized person, please be warned that the following images may be disturbing to you...

I am not an organized artist.

I want to be...

I try to be...

But I don't think it is part of who I am....

My creative muse works best in utter chaos

for it is there that she sees and combines new elements to make something special....

Each week I will try to show you what is on the workbench.

There will be scattered bits of lace

glitter sparkling on each surface

scraps of paper and fabric mixed among the images.

I apologize...

It is how I usually work.

A few times of year I clean it up for parties.  It takes weeks.

You will see why over time.

And yet, I want to share this with you because maybe you are the same way.

Maybe it will be freeing for you  (and your significant other) to know that you (and he or she) are not alone.

There is no shame in that which brings you joy and beauty to the world.

And I want to share it for those of you that work neatly.

It is good for you to see it as well.

Maybe you will try it just a bit....pieces of this project left out instead of whisked away immediately.

The next project begins and you see some of the last projects pieces lying there...

Hmmmmm...you think.  That is just what this piece needs.

And it is.

And it may not have happened if you had not left the pieces there.

Thanks for stopping by...  I better go clean up a bit....

Polymer Clay on Workbench Wednesday

Welcome to the workbench today....

I have been obsessed with making polymer clay pieces.

I started by buying Staci's tutorial here:

Staci's Polymer Tutorial

It took me a month to gather and buy the supplies she recommended and actually get ready to try it out....

Now, a month later, I am in love with the process and look I can achieve here at home.

Each batch of beads can take up to a week to make, but they are totally worth it....

These are just out of the oven....

These are painted with the first coat of color.  For some, one coat will be enough.  For others, they may get up to several more layers....

These are part way through the process.  For some reason, I just love when the beads are all mixed together...

When they are finished, you get these:

To see some of the pieces assembled in finished works, check them here in our newest Etsy shop:

Well, time to go paint some beads.  See you soon.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  Come again....

Spring is here!

You can smell and feel it in the air...

Spring!

It is my very favorite season...

Though I do love them all.

It is a time of growth.

I love the beautiful colors of the flowers and tree blossoms....

I love the warm breezes and the sunshine!

So what are you doing on your computer/Ipad/phone?

Get out there and soak up some spring!

I will see you later!

Be sure to stop back in and see what we are up to...
